Born and raised between the boroughs of New York and the streets of New Jersey, ItzJustKwame is a DJ, producer, and event coordinator whose relationship with music started long before he ever touched a set of decks. Since 2015, Kwame carved his place in the culture as a dancer absorbing the energy of the club, learning its language from the floor up, and understanding something most DJs never do: what it truly feels like to be moved by a room.
That foundation shows. When Kwame steps behind the booth, he doesn't just play music he engineers a feeling. His sets weave seamlessly through House, Hip-Hop, R&B, and Tribal Dance, anchored by a deep love for the sonic architecture of the '80s and '90s and the timeless pulse of Disco. He reads a room the way a seasoned storyteller reads an audience fluidly, instinctively, and always in service of one non-negotiable truth: everyone dances.
From underground venues and late-night culture across the Tri-State area to public stages at Rutgers University Hospital, Kwame has proven he belongs everywhere music matters. He has held the room at iconic stops including Six26, No Bar at The Standard Hotel on the Lower East Side, The Eagle NYC, and a network of underground parties that keep New Jersey and New York's scene alive. His range extends beyond nightlife as an event coordinator and crowd-reader, he brings the same intentionality to corporate and branded experiences as he does to the most intimate underground sets.
Now, Kwame is expanding his creative footprint as a producer, currently deep in the development of his debut EP a body of work that promises to translate his dance floor instincts into original sound. A natural next step for an artist who has spent over a decade studying exactly what music does to people and why.
ItzJustKwame is not chasing trends. He is building a legacy rooted in movement, memory, and the undeniable power of a well-placed record.
